Hillary Clinton or Mitt Romney? Ego or Spirit?

Hillary Clinton's ego or Mitt Romney's spirit? Which will decide the '08 Election?

When the Clintons were going through their darkest hours in the Presidency, Hillary sent an envoy to seek advice from a spiritual teacher in India, Sai Baba. Instead of answering the Clinton's questions as to how they might extricate themselves, Sai Baba offered no advice, telling the envoy only, "Tell the Clintons they brought it upon themselves."

Sai Baba understood spiritual principles which liberal-progressives do not seem able to grasp: 1) rescuing people from the results of their decisions does not help anyone, and 2) pointing out that they only are responsible for the situation they find themselves in is the greatest help that can be offered.

We know that Hillary Clinton never learned the lesson Sai Baba tried to teach her, because even today she refuses to accept responsibility for difficulties, projecting blame out onto President Bush, Karl Rove, and a mythical right-wing conspiracy. "Everybody else is to blame," is ego-standard operating procedure.

Meanwhile Mitt Romney tells audiences at every campaign stop that he and he alone is responsible for the results of his decisions, and that if he makes mistakes it is obvious he needs to look only at himself and his own thinking ... a very libertarian, very American attitude.

Are you still wondering which one, Hillary or Mitt, will resonate with American voters?

Our spiritual preparation device given by Jesus Christ for the 21st Century, A Course in Miracles, says this about the ego's plan:

While we have recognized that the ego’s plan for salvation is the opposite of God’s, we have not yet emphasized that it is an active attack on His plan, and a deliberate attempt to destroy it. In the attack, God is assigned the attributes which are actually associated with the ego, while the ego appears to take on the attributes of God.

You who were created by Love like Itself can hold no grievances and know your Self. To hold a grievance is to forget who you are. To hold a grievance is to see yourself as a body. It is the decision to let the ego rule your mind and to condemn the body to death.

Perhaps you do not yet fully realize just what holding grievances does to your awareness. It seems to split you off from your Source, and make you unlike Him. It makes you believe that he is like what you think you have become, for no one can conceive of his Creator as unlike himself.
