Mitt Romney's Mormon Faith. What Would Jesus Do?

"Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."(Matthew 11:28)

Let's see ... Jesus extended love and respect to a Roman centurion, a Samaritan woman, a tax collector, a Sadducee, a Nazarene baptiser, at least one zealot who advocated armed rebellion, and you name all the sinners.

But Mitt Romney, who accepts Jesus Christ as his personal savior, who has identified with the Christian faith by water baptism, who through faith in Jesus Christ and holy grace has been born again in the Holy Spirit, and who reveres the Holy Bible as the word of God ... is in some twisted imaginations not worthy of tolerance and trust in 21st Century America. Some progress, wouldn't you say?

Mormon-judging "Christians" have shamed themselves in the eyes of God, Who greets all His children with the utmost love and respect, patience and forgiveness, tolerance and trust. What ever happened to: "What would Jesus do?"

Honestly? Mitt Romney is the truest Christian, the most thoroughly practicing Christian among the announced and unannounced candidates for the U.S. Presidency. To know this, you need only watch him with spiritual eyes instead of eyes clouded with ego-vested interests.

You need only look beyond the surface appearances to see Romney's spirit, which shines as brightly the spirit of a Billy Graham or a Joel Osteen. Look closely and see Romney's deep inner trust. Feel his abiding honesty and integrity. Experience in your own inner knowing his tolerance, and gentleness, and joy. Rejoice in his defenselessness and generosity. Laugh along with him in his patience and faithfulness and open-mindedness.

To be President of the United States it shouldn't matter ... a man or woman's religion. United States Constitution Article VI, section 3: " ...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." And yet if Christians want a President who will stand up for their rights as Christians, who will guarantee that the war against Christianity is never won by left-wing anti-Christian bigots, there is no better choice than a man whose historical family braved religious persecution.

Wouldn't it be just like a Divine sequence of events for the salvation of Christianity in America to depend on Christians letting go of their judgments of the Mormon Faith and electing Mitt Romney?

Our spiritual preparation device given by Jesus Christ for the 21st Century, A Course in Miracles, says this about tolerance and acceptance:

God's teachers do not judge. To judge is to be dishonest, for to judge is to assume a position you do not have. Judgment without self-deception is impossible. Judgment implies that you have been deceived in your brothers. How, then, could you not have been deceived in yourself? Judgment implies a lack of trust, and trust remains the bedrock of the teacher of God's whole thought system. Let this be lost, and all his learning goes. Without judgment are all things equally acceptable, for who could judge otherwise? Without judgment are all men brothers, for who is there who stands apart? Judgment destroys honesty and shatters trust. No teacher of God can judge and hope to learn.
