"Just weeks away from a possible surprise victory in the primaries, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz has been waging a ferocious behind the scenes battle with the NEW YORK TIMES, and has hired DC power lawyer Bob Bennett to mount a bold defense against charges of giving special treatment to a lobbyist!"

"A possible surprise victory in the primaries?" Well, he pulled it off. A poor-judgment Washington insider who has been caught too many times in the past helping friends get their hands in the cookie jar. The hated co-author of the McCain-Feingold free election ticket for the Democratic Party. The advocate of amnesty for illegal aliens so they can line up and legally vote Democratic. Is the GOP intent on committing suicide?
McCain is the Joe Lieberman of the Republican Party. Strong on national defense and war efforts. Weak on every other issue. Oh, that's right. Democrat Lieberman has endorsed McCain for the Republican Primaries. All the liberal-left newspapers have endorsed McCain and are pushing McCain for all they are worth.
John McCain should quit running for President. He should say to himself, "Truth is I've been a jerk in so many ways, I should just drop out and be happy I'm still a senator." Trouble is, McCain probably couldn't get elected again as Arizona Senator ... unless illegal aliens get the vote.
Republican voters who hold to the idea of "power to the people" in the tradition of the first real Republican, Thomas Jefferson, should reward John McCain for his wartime heroism by sending him to well-deserved relaxing and fun retirement. He is too old to continue suffering the pain of politics.

In his revelation for the 21st Century, A Course in Miracles, Jesus Christ speaks of the unhealed healer:
The extent of the teacher of God's faithfulness is the measure of his advancement in the curriculum. Does he still select some aspects of his life to bring to his learning, while keeping others apart? If so, his advancement is limited, and his trust not yet firmly established. Faithfulness is the teacher of God's trust in the Word of God to set all things right; not some, but all. Generally, his faithfulness begins by resting on just some problems, remaining carefully limited for a time. To give up all problems to one Answer is to reverse the thinking of the world entirely. And that alone is faithfulness. Nothing but that really deserves the name. Yet each degree, however small, is worth achieving. Readiness, as the text notes, is not mastery.
